Learner Driver Log Book

All new learner drivers under 25 will be issued with a Log Book to record every driving session to meet the 120 hour requirement. If you are over 25, you have to ask for a Log Book as you are not expected to report your driving hours at the practical driving test.

Copies of this RMS booklet are available from the L2P team. The first section of the log book has a graduated program of driving skills that all learners need to master. Please check these off as you move through the learning journey. Under 25 learners must have these skills marked off and dated before they can do their practical driving test. RMS Testing Officers check both the skills and driving record sections of a learner’s log book in great detail!

SCARF also runs informative workshops for community members. Past workshops have included:

Buying your first car: This two and a half hour workshop starts in the yards of a second hand car dealer in North Wollongong, with a hands on check-list of what to look for when buying a second hand car. The important areas of registration, transfer of ownership, third party insurance, comprehensive insurance, road service and what to do after an accident are covered.

Keeping your car on the road: A one hour hands workshop on basic car maintenance, held at Tom Harrison’s garage.
